Blaauwberg at a glance

Known for the vibe, Blaauwberg is a bustling area filled with fitness lovers and families alike - all flocking to the area due to its relative affordability compared to other Cape Town suburbs and its active social and outdoor activity scene.

It comes as no surprise that this is one of the fastest-growing areas in the Western Cape, mainly due to its close proximity to the Cape Town city centre but also because of the lifestyle on offer in this area. Stretching from Milnerton in the south to Mamre in the north and offers vast stretches of sandy white beaches on the northern side of the Atlantic Coast.

Residents are treated to some of the most incredible views of Table Mountain across Table Bay or can enjoy the more adrenaline-fuelled kite surfers doing incredible aerial stunts from the comfort of the beach.

Suburbs in Blaauwberg include Big Bay, Bloubergrant, Flamingo Vlei, Melkbosstrand, Milnerton, Sunset Beach, Table View, West Beach and Sunningdale to just name a few.

The area is very popular with families due to affordability and a slew of excellent schools such as Blouberg Ridge Primary School, Bloubergrand High School, Milnerton High School and Blouberg International School to choose from.

Sunningdale which lies north of the Rietvlei Nature Reserve sets the tone for this beautiful suburb - while it is part of a group of suburbs that are growing very quickly, there are still ample opportunities for residents to enjoy various outdoor activities.

Milnerton is situated approximately 11km from Cape Town’s city centre. It is well known for its stunning properties, shimmering lagoon, links golf course and its close proximity to many of Cape Town’s hotspots. Milnerton is the oldest of the suburbs along the northern Table Bay and boasts beautiful homes and incredible views.

Big Bay is probably one of the most popular spots for surfing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing - while this is a major drawing card, the Eden on The Bay mixed-use development has ensured that there is a steady flow of those on the hunt for both residential and commercial property.

Blaauwberg offers world-class diners, restaurants, pubs and other entertainment venues which ensures that even when the sun sets there is still a low buzz of activity. While this might sound like that there is never a quiet moment here, a stroll along the beach with ‘that view’ will quickly remind you that even here you will find a sense of peace and tranquility.
