With over two decades of experience, Andre Langeveldt from
The Cape Town Real Estate Company has built a reputation as one of Cape Town’s most respected property professionals. From handling luxury seaside estates to vibrant city apartments, his dedication to client satisfaction and unwavering work ethic have made him a trusted name across the Western Seaboard, Atlantic Seaboard, Northern Suburbs, and Southern Suburbs.
A career inspired by people and possibilities
Andre’s real estate journey began when a close friend, who was then one of South Africa’s top-performing agents, invited him to join the industry. Drawn by his love of selling and connecting with people, he took the leap. “Yes, the money sounded good,” he laughs, “but nothing compares to seeing the joy on a buyer’s face when you hand over the keys to their dream home.”
His first sale came in a way many agents dream of: he hosted his own home as a show property, priced boldly, and within hours, a young couple fell in love with it. By the end of that very first show day, the offer was signed at full asking price. “Before accepting, though,” he recalls, “I ran down the road to secure a deal on a new build, just to make sure I had a roof over my own head!”
Specialising across Cape Town’s prime property hubs
Andre’s reach spans some of Cape Town’s most sought-after locations. He thrives in Big Bay Estates and Sunset Beach due to their coastal lifestyle appeal, but is equally passionate about selling in Green Point and the City Bowl, where the energy and vibrancy are unmatched.
“Each area has its own story and charm,” Andre says. “Helping clients find a home that fits their lifestyle, whether they’re after ocean views or urban buzz, is what makes this job so rewarding.”
Reading the market and spotting opportunities
With stock levels at historic lows and increasing international buyer interest, Andre sees a market defined by opportunity for those who know where to look. Clients frequently ask about two things: safety and return on investment. “I’m honest about both,” he says. “Guiding clients to make informed, long-term decisions is key.”
For first-time buyers, Andre simplifies the process by focusing on education. He starts by helping them get pre-qualified for a bond and walking them through the costs and steps involved in a transaction. “Buying a home is overwhelming at first, and my job is to make it simple and transparent.”
Technology, video marketing, and the future of real estate
Andre believes the next phase of real estate lies in the adoption of smart technology. AI-driven property descriptions, video tours, and digital marketing strategies are becoming increasingly important, especially for international buyers who purchase remotely. “Video allows clients to experience a property from anywhere,” he explains. “It’s becoming non-negotiable.”
If he could automate one thing, it would be pre-screening buyers. “Filtering initial enquiries would save so much time and let me focus on delivering personalised service.”
Career highlights that define excellence
Among Andre’s proudest achievements are two standout milestones. The first was leading one of the top-performing teams for the largest real estate brand globally. The team ranked first in the Western Cape, third in South Africa, and fifth internationally. The second standout milestone was being named runner-up for the prestigious Nedbank Property Professional Award.
“These moments reflect years of dedication and teamwork,” Andre says. “But the real reward is in seeing clients happy.”
Advice for aspiring agents
Andre’s advice for newcomers is simple but powerful: “Always operate with integrity and ethics.”
He also stresses the importance of building a large, trusted network and maintaining resilience. “People assume this job is easy money, but they don’t see the seven times more effort behind the scenes. People don't see the missed deals, multiple viewings, and hundreds of admin hours that go unrewarded. Success comes from persistence and passion.”
Clients first: building trust through communication
From traditional newsletters to WhatsApp calls and voice notes, Andre stays connected with his clients every step of the way. “Communication builds trust, and trust builds long-term relationships,” he says.
His top staging advice? “Declutter, declutter, declutter!” Clean, open spaces sell homes every time.
Beyond real estate: passion, faith, and lifestyle
If Andre weren’t in real estate, he’d be living another dream, running an animal rescue farm with self-catering units where visitors can stay and help care for the animals. “As long as there’s a big dam or river nearby, I’d be happy,” he says with a smile.
When he’s not working, Andre enjoys discovering local gems, from Nostimo Deli in Sunset Beach to Forneria and Primi Pizzeria in Blouberg and Giovanni’s in Green Point. And on tough days, he draws strength from his faith: “As a reborn Christian, I place all my trust in God and prayer.”
Oh, and his guilty pleasure during busy show days? A hot chocolate from Nostimo is the perfect pick-me-up.
