Hi, I`m Janet. Thank you for viewing my profile. Here is some information about me. How long have you been in real estate? I began my real estate career in 2002 when I joined the Seeff group, an experience that I thoroughly enjoyed. Shortly afterward, I had the privilege of becoming part of the sales team for a stunning development, Plantations Estate. It’s an estate I deeply believe in and am proud to still be actively involved with, continuing to assist clients with sales to this day. What did you do before real estate? Before starting my career in real estate, I was a stay-at-home mom for 24 wonderful years, cherishing every moment with my children. Transitioning back into the professional world was a change of pace after my earlier career in banking, where I worked at Barclays Bank and Boland Bank. Why did you join the real estate industry? I’ve always had a keen interest in property, sparked by the experience my husband and I gained through purchasing several investment properties over the years. One of your most memorable moments in real estate? One moment that will always stay with me was handing over the keys to a client who had just purchased their forever home. After several nerve-wracking months of extensions to allow them time to sell their “subject to” property, everything finally came together, and it was such a rewarding experience to see their joy. What is your passion? Family is at the heart of my life, and I cherish the time I spend with my children and grandchildren, whether it’s at home or catching up over the phone. I also love meeting new people, which is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work—many clients have become lifelong friends. What are your hobbies? Cooking is another passion of mine, and I enjoy experimenting with new recipes and entertaining friends. Life moves quickly, and I believe in making the most of every moment with those we care about. Two interesting facts about yourself. My journey has shaped who I am today. I went to boarding school at the age of six, where I had to adapt quickly as an English child in an Afrikaans school. I’m a proud parent of three wonderful children and a doting grandmother to five grandchildren—plus three more who keep life exciting! Life hasn’t been without its challenges. My girls’ father tragically passed away in the Helderberg Air Disaster in 1987, when my daughters were just 6, 4, and 11 months old. I navigated the path of single parenthood, which made me stronger and even more grateful for the family I have today.
