More about Des

Biography – Des Westcott Experience, accuracy, skill, energy, motivation, service, results... at Michael Price Real Estate powered by eXp, we believe that the Agent chosen for the marketing and selling of your property or business requires all of these attributes to achieve success! So why choose me? My real estate journey began in 2016 with Harcourts Grahamstown, where I took the first steps into a career that has since become my passion and purpose. In 2017, I relocated to Harcourts Summerton in Gqeberha, where I was actively involved in the marketing and selling of both residential and commercial property, as well as the leasing of commercial property and the sale of businesses. After building a solid foundation and establishing my reputation for professionalism and results, I made the exciting move in February 2023 to Michael Price Real Estate powered by eXp Realty South Africa, where I continue to serve my clients with dedication and passion. My roots are in Grahamstown, where I attended Graeme College and matriculated in 1982. During my school years, I played 56 games for the 1st XV rugby team, captaining the side in my final year. Sport has always played a central role in my life, and the lessons of discipline, teamwork, and leadership I learned on the rugby field continue to shape the way I approach my career today. Before real estate, I spent 17 successful years as a business owner, running the award-winning Wimpy franchise from 1999 to 2016. During this time, I won numerous accolades for best Wimpy in the Eastern Cape and proudly represented the brand as a Council Member for three years. In 2015, I expanded into the hospitality industry by opening a Mugg & Bean, but my long-standing passion for property eventually inspired me to change direction. Selling my businesses allowed me to embark on my real estate career—a decision I have never looked back on. Outside of real estate, I am an avid sports fan, supporting the Springboks, Manchester United, the Stormers, and following Formula One and the Tour de France with great enthusiasm. I also love to travel internationally, experiencing new cultures, meeting people from all walks of life, and exploring different cuisines. My passion for property, coupled with my commitment to service excellence, has been recognized on a national scale. In 2021, I was honored to win the Top Service Award in the Eastern Cape and achieved 2nd position in South Africa, a reflection of the dedication and care I bring to every client interaction. Today, at Michael Price Real Estate powered by eXp Realty South Africa, I remain committed to providing the most professional, effective, and personalized service in residential, commercial, and business sales. My move to this dynamic and forward-thinking company in February 2023 has allowed me to combine my experience with the innovative tools and global reach of eXp, ensuring that every client receives world-class service. I believe in “Property Driven By Purpose”, and I strive every day to make the process of buying or selling property in Gqeberha a rewarding and successful experience.
