More about Corne

About Me – Corne Olivier
Founder & Principal – Property Monopoly

My real estate journey began in 2013, when I took a leap of faith and purchased a small agency in Mossel Bay. After rebranding it as Property Monopoly, I committed to building a company rooted in trust, local expertise, and innovation. Today, over a decade later, I’m proud to lead one of the most respected estate agencies in the area—voted Best Real Estate Agency in Mossel Bay by the Mossel Bay Advertiser readers in 2024, and nominated again in 2025.

My core areas of operation include Hartenbos, Diaz Beach, Seemeeu Park, Island View, Bayview, Monte Christo Eco Estate, Outeniquasbosch Wildlife Village, and Hartland Estate. Having lived in Mossel Bay for the past 23 years, I know this region intimately and have earned the trust of the local community I proudly serve.

My passion for real estate was inspired by my mother, who has spent more than 22 years in the industry. Before launching my agency, I worked from 2007 to 2012 as a representative for a Property Magazine distributed across the Garden Route, selling advertising space and learning the value of good marketing—something I carry through to this day.

I still remember my first sale: a humble one-bedroom apartment in Diaz Beach in 2013. The commission may have been small, but the excitement and gratitude I felt were immense. Since then, I’ve grown with the market, which continues to thrive as an attractive investment destination.

In my experience, buyers most often ask about safety and security, while sellers want to know about current market conditions and area-specific pricing. I believe success in this industry demands adaptability, consistent effort, and a willingness to innovate. My best advice to new agents? Work hard, list hard—and sell easy. Real estate is not a part-time gig; it’s a full-time commitment.

Technology has reshaped the real estate landscape, and I’ve embraced it fully. From social media to property videos and personal branding, today’s buyers are searching for agents before they search for homes. That's why video content, online presence, and smart marketing strategies are now essential tools in any agent’s arsenal.

My goal over the next 12 months is clear: remain the best real estate agency in Mossel Bay. If I could automate one repetitive task, it would be canvassing, using technology and intelligent systems to identify and connect with potential listings more efficiently.

And on a lighter note—on a busy show day, you’ll find me with an extra-large cappuccino in hand, ready to welcome clients with energy and enthusiasm.

Thinking of selling your home privately? What South African sellers should know
25 Nov 2025
With the rising cost of living and tighter bank lending conditions, many homeowners are looking for ways to cut costs when selling, including the idea of avoiding estate agent commission by selling privately. While this may seem like a way to keep more money in your pocket, the risks in today’s market are far higher than most people realise. A private sale can quickly become expensive, stressful, and legally risky if you’re not fully prepared.
