More about Cheri

After matriculating in Vereeniging in Gauteng I started my working life in Sasolburg where I was employed in the creditors and capital costing departments for AECI. I moved to Johannesburg at the start of 1983 when I joined an international pharmaceutical company. I was employed in the sales department as PA to the Sales Manager and after a few years was offered a position as a pharmaceutical representative within the company. This was my first taste of selling and one to one dealing with customers and I enjoyed it immensely. After my son was born I then took a half day position with a property development company in Randburg and my interest in property was sparked. My husband was then transferred overseas and we spent the next twelve years as expats in various countries in Europe. On our return to South Africa in 2005 we decided to settle in the beautiful city of Cape Town. After twelve years of not working out of the home I had a great desire to move into the property market and joined Rawson Properties in Hout Bay. I have been a property practitioner since 2006 and previously worked with two well-known agencies and now very excited to be part of the Harcourts Hout Bay journey. On a personal level I am a lover of the outdoors, travel, theatre and live shows and basically being social! I adore animals and have an absolute passion for Scottish Terriers!

18 Aug 2025
When it comes to selling a home, every property owner dreams of securing the best possible price. Unfortunately, one of the most common mistakes sellers make is setting the price too high. While it might seem like a good idea to “test the market,” overpricing can backfire, leaving a home stuck on the market for months, attracting little interest, and eventually forcing the seller to accept less than fair value.

13 Jan 2026
For many South Africans, the start of the year marks the time when serious home-buying decisions are made. A private sale can quickly become expensive, stressful, and legally risky if you’re not fully prepared.
