Carina grew up on a farm in the Mossel Bay district and is currently residing in Oudtshoorn where she is well know by many of the residents due from her activities in chair positions previously of local schools, churches and Agri Klein Karoo.

According to Carina she excels in communication and negotiating.

Thus awarded to her in 2008 Agri Western Cape award as Best Speaker at their annual Agri Congress at Goudini Spa.
