SOLE MANDATE

FARMING ACTIVITIES:

Primarily, this is an ostrich farm, and the infrastructure to raise ostrich chicks from day old to slaughter is on a standard where an export permit to the EU is in place. From the hatchery to camps, the cemented flooring and structures are neat. Between 2000 and 3000 birds can be raised

The existing owner also farms with Nguni cattle and some sheep.

INFRASTRUCTURE:

2 X Plastic tunnels (1 x 24m x 6m and 1 x 30m x 3m), which are used to raise the small chicks, as it is ideal for protection against the weather. The larger tunnel plastic has been replaced and is new. The second tunnel needs to be replaced. However, these tunnels can easily be re-utilized to grow tomatoes or cucumbers.

Several pens with protective structures and cement flooring, with interleading gates and a loading bay.

18 x properly fenced camps for lucerne or other crops – in total about 10 ha. Currently, 5ha is under lucerne with draglines. In winter under dryland conditions, barley and oats can be planted.

WATER:

1 x equipped borehole delivering constant water at a volume of about 15,000 litres per hour.

3 x boreholes not equipped – volume unknown. One borehole has a power supply point.

1 x reservoir holding 15 000 litres, and 1 x 5000 litre water tank.

The borehole water is of good quality and is tested every 4 months for bacteria and other harsh minerals to comply with EU export standards.

FENCES:

All internal camp fences are in good condition.

The boundary fence is good enough for stock farming, with about 1 km of fence to be erected.

ROADS:

Vanwyksdorp is approximately 33 km of dirt road from the R62.

Access to the property is through one farm via a servitude road. This road also provides access through the property to one neighbouring farm.

The roads on the farm are in good condition.

The property is VAT registered, and VAT is not included in the asking price.
