Potential vegetable farm situated on the Barrington Road approximately 11km from the N2.
This 15ha farm has got magnificent infrastructure for either a vegetable farmer or specialized vegetables like brinjal or peppers. 8ha under shade netting with double drip irrigation lines. The netted areas are divided up in different blocks with electric fencing around the blocks. Each block has its own water tanks on blocks to assure gravity feed pressure to a network of taps to provide drinking water for staff during working shifts.
A small 2 bedroomed house was converted into an office building with a lovely deck overlooking the large dam in front of this building. This could easily be converted back into a functional house. A small pump house next to the dam also provides plenty storage for fertilizer or farming products needed.
Water rights from the Karatara River allows 100 000 m3 per annum which is pumped up to holding tanks where the main pumping station is situated. The main pumping station is situated at the pump house. Clean drinking water is provided by a borehole and purified for human consumption whilst all the rainwater channelled from the package store goes to the storage dam.
All the buildings have approved plans and consists of the following: A large 300m2 packaging store has a general storage area of about 120m2 with a cold storage office area 15m2, ablution and wash area 30m2, receiving or dispatch area 20m2, a Blast chiller cold room 27 m2 and a main cold room 80m2 Staff ablution blocks and canteen area provides an area for the staff to take lunch and breaks in.
9 x 5000 litre water tanks are ample storage for rainwater or borehole water.
The 3-phase electricity comes straight from Eskom. They have 3 transformers situated to provide power to different areas on the farm.
Apart from the netted areas, there is also 8 tunnel structures where more potential is possible. Nothing will be planted in any of these structures as they are waiting for you to plant and harvest to your heart`s content.
