Gonubie at a glance

Just outside of East London, on the shores of the beautiful estuary of the Gonubie River, lies the picturesque beachside village of Gonubie.

Without large shopping malls and big developments the area has remained tranquil, however, there are shops where you can get your daily groceries from.

There isn’t much in the way of entertainment options but the estuary at Gonubie beach coupled with the flourishing vegetation on adjacent sand dunes alone is enough to place it in a league of its own. Add to that the perfect swimming conditions and the boardwalk and it’s easy to understand how time can pass here without complaint.

Gonubie is fast becoming a ‘hot property’ spot and holiday homes, in particular, are popular.
