Mzansi-export Trevor Noah recently dropped an eye-watering R420 million ($27.1 million) on a mansion nestled in the exclusive Bel-Air neighbourhood of Los Angeles.
This comes after selling another home in the same area in 2020 for $21.7 million.
The impressive home was designed (and owned) by L.A. architect Mark Rios, who had been quoted as saying that the inspiration for the home comes from Japanese aesthetics and employed dark timbers based on a room he saw in Kyoto and extra-thick walls to protect against the noise of the city below.
Aerial photos from the back reveal that the estate sprawls across its hillside lot with a series of open spaces that adjoin or overlook a scenic backyard with a lawn and infinity-edge pool.
Boasting with 11 six bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, an office, library, elevator, gym, spa, steam room and game room spread out over three stories.
The home also has a movie theater than leads to a rooftop terrace, a cabana with a bar and a sun deck that joings the pool out back. m
