An English Country Equestrian Estate Amongst the Treetops

Set across approximately 46,000m2 (4.6 hectares) of established grounds, this exceptional equestrian estate combines the character of an English country home with the beauty and climate of the South African coast.

Built in the 1990s, the residence is not about contemporary minimalism. It is a substantial, character-filled country home, offering approximately 950m2 under roof, generous proportions, soaring ceilings, exposed beams, warm timber and brick detailing, and an unmistakable sense of permanence.

The setting, however, is what makes this estate truly special.

Decades of growth have created an extraordinary established garden, with mature trees, sweeping lawns and lush planting surrounding the home. The scale and maturity of the landscaping represent considerable value in themselves—something that would take many years and significant investment to reproduce today.

Elevated amongst the tree-line, the property enjoys remarkable 360-degree views over the surrounding forest and towards the ocean. In the owner's words, he “lives amongst the birds in the tree-line.”

For the equestrian buyer, the estate is exceptionally well equipped, with six stables, an enormous dressage arena, multiple paddocks and its own private cross-country riding course. From the property, riders can connect directly to the surrounding horse trails, with routes extending all the way to the beach for spectacular coastal outrides. It is a rare combination of serious equestrian infrastructure, extensive private grounds and the freedom to ride from the estate into the surrounding landscape.

Inside, the scale continues. There are six bedrooms and five bathrooms, with two rooms offering the potential to function as private flatlets or separate accommodation. The enormous country kitchen and separate scullery provide the kind of space expected of a home of this size, while generous living and entertainment areas cater effortlessly for family life and entertaining.

Downstairs, a dedicated wine cellar adds to the property's country-estate character.

Outside, a beautiful swimming pool and entertainment area are surrounded by the established garden, creating a wonderfully private setting for long South African summers.

The estate also includes six garages and a separate garden cottage, currently tenanted, adding further accommodation and income potential.

This is a property where the value lies in the entire estate: 4,61 hectares of land, approximately 950m2 of residence, equestrian infrastructure, six garages, additional accommodation, established gardens, 12 KW 3 phase inverter with 15KW battery backup solar system, borehole, multiple rainwater tanks and a spectacular elevated off grid coastal setting.

It would be extraordinarily difficult—and costly—to recreate what already exists here.

A true country estate for the buyer looking for space, horses, privacy and a home with character rather than something newly built.
