All the individual bins have fans for drawing hot air trough a radiator heated up by a 300kw kettle. The bins are totally enclosed on the top, with a moisture/ RH probe with 2 extractor fans on each side of the enclosed area to suck out any moisture. Probe control is electronically set to the ideal RH level. The circulation of the air in the bins and fan corridor, dry the air out, thus drying the nuts in the bins. There are 21 bins of 7.5 ton capacity per bin.
AFTER DRYING: The nuts get transferred via conveyor to a final sorting table. There they get split to: either being loaded on a truck to be delivered to a factory of choice OR to a rope sizer that grades the nuts into 4 different sizes, and dropped into the relevant bins. From here, they are elevated into a cracker-out with a shaker table, then to 2 stainless steel tables to be sorted by hand OR to a food grade sorting conveyor for grading. All nut processing equipment, from the cracker onwards, is made from stainless steel.

One of the concrete reservoirs comes from the office enclosure, that has a roof of concrete and the other is on top of the silo near the office, whilst the ground floor, and the floor higher up, below the concrete reservoir of the silo is utilized as a shed. These 2 concrete reservoirs are supplied by 2 pumps, one from the dam and the other from a small fountain dam. The cable is 1 km of surfix or armored cable and HDPE pipe. The 2 pumps are regulated by float switches to keep the 2 reservoirs full. The concrete reservoirs supply the garden, workshop as well as the staff accommodation with water, also on a pressure pump system.
18) DRINKING WATER:
This water is supplied by a borehole, equipped with a pump that works off solar as well as electricity ( in case it has been overcast or raining for a few days. 27) NET HOUSE:
This is protective netting where vegetables are being grown.
28) FENCES:
A HUGE effort went into erecting top quality fencing and is as follows:
1) All fences are fully galvanized BONNOX mesh and all steel material has been either treated or galvanized. The poles have been concreted into the ground, 1 meter deep by 0.5 X 0.5 meter concrete holes. all fences are as new and very well maintained at all times.
2) All the fences around the farm are 2 meters high with 8 electrified single steel wires and isolators onto BONNOX mesh with an alarm facility of 11 000 volts with 2 druid and 18 immobilizers on back-up batteries to outlast power failures ( very unlikely due to solar plant and back-up invertors).
3) The conservancy fencing was done similar as above, but without the electrified function.
4) The workshop and the residential area have 2.4 meter high Diamond mesh with concrete at the bottom AND razor wire on the outside from top to bottom.
The current electrified fences keep all human, bushpig and buck as well as monkeys out. Monkeys can be a huge problem, damaging young Macadamia nuts and ultimately destroy your crop.
29) GATES:
The farm, workshop, residential areas AND the dam area have proper galvanized, sliding gates. The farm`s entrance and camera works off a solar system as well as a PT2 camera at the main gate. There are 5 more sliding gates spread all over the farm that operate manually.
GENERAL:
Basically all the buildings have concrete "aprons" all round. The farm is very flat for the province and the area leans towards an easy crack-out of 40% plus and higher on the Macadamias. The rainfall, on average, recorded over almost 20 years is 1350mm per year. ( such report is available). That gives the opportunity to farm dry land, without irrigation. The farmer does a lot to put down compost for water retention and the soil preparation to maintain good moisture levels during drier periods, like in winter. The farm has been fully developed over the last 10 years by the farmer, from a cane farm to a Macadamia farm. The interested investor will buy the farm as the trees mature. Harvests will increase yearly as the trees mature and the yearly harvest increases to it`s full capacity and turnover. There is also a fire car shed that houses fire equipment and 3 phase electricity and lights. The shed is 50 square meters.
Management/ transfer management can be negotiated.
