There are 32 sites on Wild Rivers. From an ecological point of view, the riverine environment provides a number of habitats to a wide diversity of fauna and flora. Wild Rivers is also home to the rare Pels Fishing Owl and is a protective breeding site for Herons. There are lovely river walks to the confluence of the Blyde and Olifants Rivers.
The farm is extremely accessible being 10 kms north of Hoedspruit. The property has a large network of road and game drive area. Sycamore figs, Leadwoods, Maroelas, Knobthorns and Candelabra are just some of the trees and plants that entrench tranquility and beauty into Wild Rivers Nature Reserve.
Hippo and crocodile are residents to the rivers and elephant occasionally frequent the reserve, especially when there is a shortage of water in the Greater Kruger reserves. The reserve has a large variety of plain game including Giraffe, Zebra, leopard, Wildebeest, Kudu, Impala, Hippo, Croc, Warthog, Leopard, Nyala, and along with many more mammals. Birdwatching is spectacular with a variety of Raptors and Riverine birds such as the rare Narina Trogon and Pels Fishing owl.
The reserve is run by a manager who reports to the Board of Directors of the Home owners association.
