Onrus River at a glance

There are many retirement homes in Onrus - however, residents are all active members of the community. Walking on the beach and going to the local market are just some of the activities they take part in.

The entire area is surrounded by the impressive mountains of the Cape Overberg, as well as hundreds of species of the spectacular fynbos that is endemic to this country. This means that, no matter where in Onrus or the greater Overberg region one stays, the views are almost always breath-taking, and access to the wonders of the South African landscape are only a short drive or walk away.

There are a number of markets, malls, specialty stores and boutiques to explore. When you need refreshments, the local eateries range from child-friendly diners to upmarket establishments, and everything in-between.
