In the year 1822, Landdrost D.J van Ryneveld from Stellenbosch applied to buy a piece of land in, then named Mosterdsbaai (which eventually had a name change to The Strand in 1913), to build a holiday home for his family. This original vintage manor still stands, proud and renovated. He named the property Eensgesind.
He allowed other applicants to also build houses on his property. Eventually a few houses were built on this piece of land and were referred to by locals as Van Ryneveldsdorp. This property for sale is one of the properties originally built on the grounds of Eensgesind and you can own this renovated part of history.
Situated one block from the beach the sounds of the ocean is constantly in your ears. You will own a semi-detached 350m sectionalized plot with its own private garden and backyard. The 133m of floor size under roof includes the enclosed veranda and single garage. During recent renovations the ENTIRE roof structure and ceilings were replaced as well as all electric wiring throughout the property. The old Cape style layout is charming. The solid wooden floors are original and give an astounding feeling of warmth. The three bedrooms are filled with atmosphere, chronicles and memoirs of long forgotten history. This humble experience will leave you feeling privileged to be part of such antiquity and rich history of the original vintage compound that was known as Van Ryneveldsdorp
