Massive Ceres Karoo Game Reserve All The Way To The Distant Mountains

This unique game reserve stretching over 5500 hectares of Ceres Karoo north of the Bontberg Mountain range lies 180km from Cape Town and 60km from Ceres. Summer days are warm and dry, with exquisite evenings. The valley is fringed by mountain ranges which block the clouds, resulting in a very high level of sunshine. Winter nights can be cold, but fortunately not as wet and unpleasant as the Boland area. Winter days are pleasant with its picturesque backdrop of snow capped mountain peaks.  The farm has the largest natural heritage site in the Western Cape with San rock paintings dating back thousands of years. The property boasts a spectacular 42 km long 4x4- and hiking trail over mountains and flat Karoo veld, which add to its unique scenic offering. A total of 149 bird species have been recorded to date.  The rock cabin sleeps 9 people in 4 bedrooms, with 4 bathrooms, 3 of which are en suite. There are 2 staff houses as well as a manager's residence. Water is from a borehole, driven by a powerful generator. A network of pipes supply water to various tanks and drinking troughs for the game. The reserve is fully game fenced and is in fact the only game farm in the area. The owner has not allowed any hunting or culling over the past 12 years, so eland, gemsbok and springbok are plentiful. Ostriches also occur. The owner is reluctantly selling to concentrate on other properties and business in the western Cape. Please call for more detailed information and to arrange a visit.
