This unique Bali style lodge has been lovingly developed over the past 21 years to its current state by the owners who are now ready to embrace retirement and hand it over to a younger generation that has the necessary energy to take it to the next level! The lodge is situated in the original village of Kosmos that is nearly 90 years old. This security village is on the edge of the Hartbeespoortdam with no through fair traffic so, no traffic noise. The asking price includes all the furniture and necessary items like bedding, crockery etc., to carry on running the lodge, business rights and all the websites etc. This lovely property is so much more than a lodge and Bali house. It can become an amazing venue for a day spa, detox treatment centre or even a cooking school with accommodation.
There are 9 bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, of which 8 separate entrance suites are for the lodge, and 1 bedroom for the owners with en-suite bathroom and walk-in dressing room. There are 11 bathrooms one in each suite and an extra one off the reception area.
3 living entertainment areas serve the lodge, 1 in the lodge are with kitchen, 1 area in the family suite with a big breakfast bar and outside deck and one area in the owners Bali house. The Bali house has a beautiful roof with trusses and carvings all imported from Bali (Indonesia) and the entrance to the house has an imported antique door with the wooden carved staircase and window features also being very special - all imported from Bali. The Bali house entertainment area has a guest toilet with 2 toilets also with carved doors.
There are 3 kitchens, the one in the Bali house with granite tops, scullery and big pantry as well as outside courtyard. The 2nd kitchen is the lodge guest kitchen, it has a scullery and pantry cupboard + big breakfast bar that seats 8 persons and guest toilet. The 3rd kitchen is a mini kitchen in the Bali suite with a compact 2 plate stove, microwave and basin.
Other facilities consists of a very nice wine cellar that is built into the ground, a reception area with en-suite bathroom, 2 separate store rooms, a study / office in the Bali house as well as a separate laundry area.
Outside there is an extra-large double garage with automatic wooden door and direct access to the Bali house from the garage. There is also a large undercover parking at the lodge in front of the reception area with ample additional parking for guests.
In the garden there is a thatch Lapa with a built-in seat at the rock pool, 3 Gazebo’s (also imported from Bali) and an outside Jacuzzi with a waterfall feature. The tropical style garden has many trees, palm trees and lots of well-established plants with at least 10 different types of hibiscus, many plants in pots all over the property - some plants are in rare oriental type pots. There is also a wonderful birdlife and pets are allowed – also for the guests visiting the lodge with small pets.
Access to the village is controlled through a security boom and there are also patrols at night. The lodge has an alarm system with perimeter beams.
The property has a beautiful view of the Hartbeespoortdam and is situated on the side of a hill with the Magaliesberg Mountains behind the property. Kosmos is located in the middle of a tourism area with many guests coming for the interesting markets and restaurants around the dam. There are some very special fine dining restaurants close-by.
Also the Elephant and Monkey centre and Anne van Dyke Cheetah and wild dog centre are not far from the lodge.
This area is only 45 min from the city of Johannesburg and Pretoria and 90 km from Sun City and the Pilanesberg game reserve.
There are many golf courses in the area - Pecanwood 18 hole, Magaliespark 18 hole, Brits 18 hole, Caribbean 9 hole and 45 min away from Mooinooi golf course.
The lodge is close to at least 4 wedding venues.
Work has just been started on a new part of the R512 road that will make the trip to Johannesburg 15-20 min shorter. It is to be completed end 2018
