A new 300 metre lagoon for Steyn City

Following their recent launch of an exclusive helipad for residents, Steyn City has gone on to unveil a new 300-meter lagoon.

The Clearwater lagoon is the first of its kind in the city and forms part of the 900-hectre estate first launched in 2015.

GAST Clearwater, the developers of the project, said that the new lagoon measures an incredible 300 meters in length and includes a number of water-based activities, including:

  • Kayaks;
  • Water slides;
  • Beach volleyball;
  • Beach-style sandpits;
  • A zero-depth water feature for toddlers;
  • A Laguna kiosk serving out beach-style treats like gelato ice cream and cocktails.

The aim of the development is to allow residents to enjoy the benefits of the coast without having to to go the beach, said Dr Kevin Gast, chairman of the GAST group.

He said that lagoons can be built in and around any property development, which would add significant economic and social value to the developer. For those worried about the environment, he said that breakthrough green technology makes it possible to create facilities of this breathtaking size without compromising on sustainability - not only are GAST’s clearwater bodies of water cost-effective, they only need some maintenance and little in the way of chemical and energy requirements.

Steyn City CEO, Giuseppe Plumari, notes that from the outset, the development has distinguished itself by offering residents an investment not only in real estate but in lifestyle.

“We have always tried to create a residence without compare – a little bit of extraordinary, every day. This is a place where you truly can live your best life,” he says.
