Pearl Valley Golf Estate, one of the Winelands’ most established luxury estates, has shown a steady price appreciation in the past decade, says Pam Golding Properties, with average house prices almost doubling in recent years. Homes on the estate, which forms part of the Val de Vie footprint, are highly sought after.
Pam Golding Properties has the exclusive mandate for a Peal Valley home that enjoys one of the best locations on the estate. Situated opposite the fairway and on the water’s edge, facing a tract of land where development has been restricted, is a beautifully appointed two-level home listed for R23.5 million. It boasts exceptional views not only of the Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, but also of the rest of the estate and the nearby mountains. “This north-facing home, in an exclusive enclave of the estate, is unique in that its views will never be compromised by the construction of more houses,” says Jordan Greenhalgh, Pam Golding Properties area specialist for Val de Vie, Pearl Valley and Boschenmeer.
Personal touches, such as the use of reclaimed doors, make this the ideal property for the discerning buyer. One of the doors hails from an old cricket club in Bangalore, while another was sourced from a villa in France, explains Greenhalgh. The bespoke glass staircase, a focal point as you enter the home, was custom-made for the house and there are glass chandeliers throughout. Many of these are made of Murano glass.
Other features include home automation, a private cinema room with state-of-the-art equipment, a Nuvo whole home audio system, a vacuum flow system, and a gourmet Clive Christian entertainer’s kitchen with a Lacanche premium cooker. An indoor braai area within the glass enclosed patio area forms part of the seamless flow that chacterises this naturally-lit home. The bathrooms have marble floors and statement dressers.
Greenhalgh, who forms part of the Pam Golding Properties team that has 17 years’ experience marketing properties on estates in this part of the Winelands, says there’s a massive demand for lifestyle estates that offer peace of mind with top-notch security, as well as an array of amenities. “Buyers are willing to pay for well-positioned, private properties with spacious family homes,” adds Deanne Kriel, also a Pam Golding Properties area specialist.
This home, close to two parks that are ideal for younger children, is situated in a quieter part of the estate with minimal traffic. A boma with horse riding facilities and picnic spots is a short walk away, as is the clubhouse which is also ideal for family gatherings and entertainment. The resort-style swimming pool adds to the appeal of these communal facilities. Pearl Valley residents also have full access to all the amenities at Val de Vie, including the new dog park.
Pearl Valley is just a short drive from Stellenbosch and Cape Town, thanks to the completion of the bridge linking Val de Vie with the R45. Nearby are top schools and the University of Stellenbosch, while the estate does have its own preschool. Property prices here have shown considerable growth in recent years and Greenhalgh says there is considerable buyer interest in particularly the upper end of the market, for homes of upwards of R15 million.
