Elon Musk has relisted his Bay Area mansion, after taken it off the market just a month ago, at a reduced price of R476 million.
Originally listed for R558 million, the home's new listing price is 15% less than the original price but at around R29 760 per square feet, it is nearly double the per square feet price for other houses in the area.
The property was first bought in 2017 for a cool R342 million and boasts a sprawling 16 000 square feet mansion, set on 47 acres. The home was built in 1916 and features 10 bathrooms, seven bedrooms, a library, a music room, and a pool.
Musk, who had relocated to Texas at the end of last year and tweeted in July that he was living in Austin in a R744 000, pre-fab house, has announced that Tesla will also be moving its headquarters from the San Francisco Bay Area to Texas. Other tech giants like Oracle and Hewlett Packard Enterprise will also make the move away from Silicon Valley to Texas.
He had said before that he plans to sell "almost all physical possessions" and "own no house." Having already sold off six of his seven properties, he was said to have rented out the Bay Area mansion for events.
