Expansion of the business, which includes achieving significant growth in market share, has prompted the Uitenhage operation of Pam Golding Properties (PGP) to relocate to new, larger offices at 74 Cannon Road, ideally situated close to the CBD - making it easily accessible to clients.

At the recent office launch, which was well attended by clients, attorneys and business associates, Keimpe Weistra, PGP area principal, said that over the past three-and-a-half years the business had grown significantly - as had its share of the market. "As a result we outgrew our former office, requiring more spacious offices in order to accommodate additional agents and provide clients with maximum accessibility in a comfortable, user-friendly environment," he said.

Despite the current trading conditions and increasing interest rates over the past two years, Weistra says buyers are finding good value in the Uitenhage property market. "Sound value can be found by astute investors and sellers' homes which are realistically priced sell on average within three to four months. We are finding that many properties suitable for a family lifestyle are selling in the R500 000 to R600 000 price range, affording excellent value not only to locals but also those from surrounding areas such as Port Elizabeth.

Weistra says entry level homes are available priced from just R80 000 in Rosedale, an area experiencing a huge demand, particularly among the emerging market. "An increasing number of transactions are evident in this area, with this entry level price securing buyers a basic two or three bedroom house. In other suburbs of Uitenhage such as Van Riebeeckhoogte, homes are generally priced in the R500 000 / R600 000 price range. These also reflect a sound increase in value of approximately 15 percent over the past year. At the top end of the Uitenhage property market upmarket four bedroom homes on a spacious stand are selling for between R1.2-R1.45 million."

Sometimes it’s because our circumstances have changed, and we’re taking care of elderly parents or relatives.
