Joel Harris and Michael Mosselson are the 2009 faces of the real estate industry


Joel Harris and Michael Mosselson of Firzt Realty have been awarded the prestigious title of Property Professionals 2009 at the tenth annual Nedbank Property Professional of the Year Awards.


Held at The Arabella Western Cape Hotel & Spa on Saturday on 18 July 2009, Harris and Mosselson were crowned as the overall winners, selected as the top achievers out of 14 finalists - each a winner in their own right. The awards ceremony followed an exhaustive and intensive judging process that was based on stringent criteria including the highest turnover and highest established service satisfaction record.


Apart from sales figures, other criteria such as contribution to the real estate industry as a whole, service ethics, professionalism, community involvement, marketing and innovation, and commitment to education and leadership were also considered in the judging process.


Harris and Mosselson, as the faces of the real estate profession for the year to come, savoured their well-deserved success at the glittery black-tie event along with some of the country’s finest real estate professionals and key players.

Joel Harris, Firzt Realty Company Training Director of Firzt Training Academy and Gold Crown Realtor has been in the industry for 18 years.  His accolades include being awarded as the Firzt Realty ‘Realtor of the Year’ and ‘most unit sales’ for five consecutive years.  His positive attitude and motivational approach add a new and fresh dimension to Firzt Realty.  Joel has also held director and management positions in other real estate firms in Gauteng.




Two of his favourite mottos are: “Others promise, we action” and “The client is king.”

Joel has been involved in inspirational training for the past 10 years.  He has given inspirational workshops for realtors of the Firzt Training Academy, for attorneys and various other real estate agencies and has done numerous talks on stress management, time management and motivation.  He also conducts intensive hands on property training incorporating role plays and workshops for Firzt Realty Company, including the “Code of Conduct”, “Offer to Purchase”, “Sole mandates” and other legal documents incorporating negotiating and closing plus many other real estate related topics.


He is partnered by Michael Mosselson, who has been in the industry for eight years.  Michael shares the Gold Crown for all his accolades over the years.  Michael is involved in his community through assisting with security and protection and also helps a charity that provides meals for the underprivileged.


Aside from the prestigious title of Property Professionals 2009, Harris and Mosselson will also receive a floating trophy designed by Jenna Clifford, a R35 000 travel voucher and a media course presented by Nedbank Home Loans.
