DURBAN (November 18) - IFA Hotels & Resorts (IFA HR), a leader in the development of prestigious mixed-use resorts worldwide, has announced the appointment of G. LIVIERO & SONS BUILDING and STEFCON PROJECTS as the two main contractors for the initial phases of the Fairmont Zimbali resort project.
Their appointment earmarks a key milestone for this prestigious R1.1 billion development with the planned completion on track for the 2nd Quarter of 2009.
The main contract for the construction of the hotel, garden suites and condos has been awarded to G. Liviero & Sons Building, while Stefcon Projects has been awarded the construction of the Beach Club, fractional units and certain residential sections.
The combined value of these phases of the project exceeds R350 million.

The world class five star 157- suite Fairmont Zimbali hotel will include conference facilities, a Willow Stream Spa, beach club and the Fairmont Heritage Place. The development will offer the ultimate in luxury accommodation to hotel guests and residents alike. In addition, the Fairmont development will include 56 designer apartments, 6 hillside villas, 6 signature beachfront villas and 21 golf chalets that will be constructed over a phased period.
Subject to the necessary approvals, there will also be an 18 hole Gary Player Signature Golf Course, modern Club House, a retail component and a Gary Player Golf Academy with state-of-the-art driving range.
