Construction has commenced at the site of “360º” – the new seven-storey apartment building in Bromwell Street, Woodstock. With its contemporary blend of face brick and extensive glazing, it is expected to become a local landmark, blending in with its Victorian and industrial surroundings, yet standing out as a symbol of the area’s anticipated rebirth.

Seventy percent of the 72 apartments were sold by marketing agents Pam Golding Properties immediately on its recent launch. Sales included all but five of the flagship penthouse units. The remaining 18 units range in size from 40sqm to 70sqm, and come in a choice of studio, one- or two-bedroomed units, all with secure parking bays. They are priced from R645 000 to R850 000, inclusive of VAT.

PGP director and Southern Suburbs Developments Manager, Bev Bloch says the building will offer the latest hi-tech security systems. “These will include fingerprint recognition access control,” she says, “as well as direct access from the parking garages, and CCTV monitoring. A 24-hour manned security/concierge station will be linked to each apartment via intercom. Adding to the appeal of the building are the communal leisure facilities, which will include an entertainment area with rooftop swimming pool and braai area, as well as an open-air running track around the rooftop perimeter. This will ensure that residents can keep fit, entertain guests and relax in comfort, enjoying spectacular views while they do so, without ever having to leave the security of their stylish home.”

360º, also trading as Bestvest 153 (Pty) Ltd, is being developed by Coessa Holdings Ltd. Xaler Construction (Pty Ltd), a subsidiary of Coessa, is the authorised construction company, overseeing and managing the building process, which commenced in January 2008. The expected completion date is May 2009.
