CENTURY 21 South Africa’s has announced the launch of its first five franchises.

The group, according to Duncan Gray, CEO and national franchisor of CENTURY 21 South Africa, launched its South African presence five months ago and commenced selling franchises three months ago.

The five franchisees are CENTURY 21 Richter Properties, CENTURY 21 Realty Footprint, CENTURY 21 Helderberg, CENTURY 21 Realty 2020 and CENTURY 21 Silversky Realtors. They were selected from 250 enquiries.

Gray says the five operations are laying the foundation of the CENTURY 21 franchise system in the country. “They were specifically chosen as top performers in their respective areas,” he added.

Richter Properties, CENTURY 21 South Africa’s first franchisee - which has been trading under the CENTURY 21 banner since 1 October, is operating in Sandton, including Morningside, Rosebank and Parks. Realty Footprint, the second franchisee, is also already trading under the CENTURY 21 brand, and is servicing the areas of Bedfordview, Edenvale, Modderfontein and Witbank South.

The award-winning Carrit Estates, which is now CENTURY 21 Helderberg, launched their office on 9 October. They cover Somerset West, Gordon’s Bay and Strand.

CENTURY 21 Realty 2020 has a very strong profile in the development market and has offices in Bela Bela and Modimolle.

Gray says CENTURY 21 Silversky Realtors, under the leadership of Mario Raffa, Margerett Dillin and Alma Vlok, will soon be operating in the suburbs of East London. He noted that there were more franchisees in the pipeline for Houtbay, Kensington, Primrose and Fourways.

Gray confirmed that CENTURY 21 South Africa will continue to focus on Gauteng, with area specific franchisees to be set up in Johannesburg and Pretoria. Gray said a further 70 franchise opportunities for real estate operators, within an hours drive from Sandton. Development of the Western Cape node is also well underway with 30 franchise areas available immediately.

Even though each franchise is independently owned and operated, Gray commented that all of the offices will benefit from the expansion of the CENTURY 21 Connections Programme and the expansion of the Brokers Electronic Management Tools. The CRM assets of this international real estate giant will also be localised.

“Aside from these systems, the franchisees will profit from the group’s expertise in marketing, technology, professional development and business resources, which will enable them to fulfil the CENTURY 21 slogan - Agents of Change,” Gray said.
