Betterbond salutes excellence

The Nedbank Property Professional of the Year 2008 was held at the Arabella Western Cape Hotel & Spa on Saturday, 19 July 2008. This marks the ninth year that this prestigious award has been bestowed on an individual who has shown remarkable qualities in the property industry. Betterbond would like to congratulate this year’s winner, Kobie Potgieter of RE/MAX Independent Properties, Port Elizabeth.

“The Property Professional of the Year sets the benchmark in the industry. We are proud to be associated with RE/MAX and estate agents of Kobies’ calibre” says Marsha Haupt, Betterbond sales director.

The Nedbank Property Professional may be the jewel in the crown, but this is not the only award Kobie has achieved this year. Potgieter is the broker/owner of RE/MAX Independent Properties which was established in 2003. Due to her incredible dedication and passion for the industry, Kobie was recently awarded broker/owner Individual of the Year for RE/MAX Southern Africa. Internationally Kobie was the top agent for commission paid in the first quarter of 2008 outside of North America.  Her stellar achievement has also led to her being nominated for South Africa’s Most Influential Business Woman of the Year 2008.

Jeanne van Jaarsveldt, marketing director of RE/MAX says:  “Kobie’s commitment and contribution  to the property industry are invaluable to the RE/MAX brand.  Kobie has reeled in 19 awards or nominations for her achievements in business and property in the last three month alone, both locally and abroad. We are exceptionally proud of her achievements.”

Potgieter aims to be approachable and share her knowledge with other property professionals. As a mentor to other estate agents, Potgieter runs training programmes for beginner estate agents and qualified agents alike.

“The award that gives meaning to professionalism in the real estate industry is in good hands with this year’s winner. Betterbond looks forward to seeing Kobie go from strength to strength as this year’s Property Professional”, concludes Marsha Haupt, Betterbond sales director.
