Bedfordview Property Market

Fine & Country’s Bedfordview agency has two new licensees, Amanda and Costa Papoutsis. The Papoutsis have been estate agents in the area since 1987. “We wanted to be part of an upmarket international group. Amanda and I loved the upmarket branding of Fine & Country and thought it was the perfect group for us to join,” says Costa.

“The Bedfordview area will always be in high demand due to its close proximity to O.R. Tambo, the C.B.D and Eastgate of course. The area also has eight of the best private schools in South Africa,” says Amanda. The husband and wife duo were both schooled in the area and are continuing the tradition by schooling their children in Bedfordview.

The Papoutsis add, that the area’s property market is active, with many exclusive properties available to buyers at the moment.  Unlike last years constant rise in prices, the prices this year have been more stable as sellers become more realistic in their pricing. Its not easy to find a home or a cluster for under R2,5 – R3 million in the area, but townhouses can still be found from around R800 000.

Costa is of the opinion that the Bedfordview area makes for a promising investment as it has had a continuously steady growth over the years. He also believes that commercial and business properties are set to boom in the area between now and 2010.

Fine & country Bedfordview has extended its reach into the neighbouring areas of Kensington and Primrose which are more affordable markets and fast growing areas, with a rapid increase in demand.

Things you should consider before upgrading to a new home

The thing about the property ladder is that at some point in our lives we all have reason to want to climb a rung or two higher. Sometimes it’s because our circumstances have changed, and we’re taking care of elderly parents or relatives.
