Are South Africans moving away from Bond Originators?

Two of SA's big-four banks said the number of home loans written by mortgage originators had decreased compared to more than three years ago, with the majority of clients using direct banking channels.

Bond originators fill the gap between an estate agent and the bank. Among other things originators pride themselves as the middlemen who shops around all the banks to find the best home loan deal for the customer. The originators interview the mortgage applicant in order to assess what the customer needs. They also help customers fill in their loan applications and then send them to all banks dealing with originators.
