Aida makes its mark in Vaal Triangle
Aida National Franchises, South Africa’s oldest real estate franchise group, has opened a new office in Three Rivers to serve property consumers in the Vaal Triangle.
The Aida Vaal office has been trading since January and office manager Hannatjie Stoltz says the brand has been keenly received in the local market.
“Aida has been in operation for more than 50 years and is a well-known brand in the local property market - our clients see it as a reliable company with a reputation for outstanding service and we were overwhelmed by the positive response from local property consumers.”
The office, which currently fields five agents, serves the entire Vaal Triangle including Sasolburg, and Stoltz says more agents will be appointed soon to cope with the increasing number of consumers approaching the office for assistance with property deals. Owners Cas Aucamp jnr and Cas Aucamp snr say the franchise will open several additional offices in due course.
Stoltz adds that the local market is showing signs of a revival. “The recent recession dampened demand but inquiries for homes in all price ranges are increasing, although family homes under the R700 000 mark are in greatest demand.
Entry-level prices for three-bedroom homes in certain suburbs of Vereeniging and Vanderbijlpark are now around R400 000. Stoltz says there is also demand for homes in the luxury segment with price tags of up to R2m but that bank financing remains sticky. “The market is expected to pick up more steam as soon as financing is more readily available.”
Properties repossessed by banks because owners under pressure could not keep up repayments due to the recession, are also in great demand among bargain hunters.
Demand for development land is growing once again and Stoltz says this is an indication of increasing confidence in the local propetry market. “It is always a healthy sign when developers have enough confidence to start new projects.”
