Aida calls blood donors

The Pretoria East office of the Aida National Franchises property group is appealing to clients, regular blood donors and concerned citizens to donate a unit of blood at its next blood drive.
The office will host a mobile clinic of the SA National Blood Services on Friday, 28 May at its offices at 477 Kings Highway, Lynnwood, from 10am to 3pm.
Office manager Helen Taylor says the drive forms part of Aida’s countrywide campaign to help increase desperately needed blood stocks.
“While there always is a great demand for blood and blood products, stocks are reportedly very low at the moment – and there is concern that there may be an increased demand during the Soccer World Cup tournament. We appeal to all our loyal clients, regular blood donors and other residents to support this initiative.
“Our agents will take the lead and be the first to roll up their sleeves,” she says. “Our blood drive forms part of our ongoing community involvement and we take pride in our small effort to give something back to the wider South African society by helping those who may need live-giving blood.”
A mobile blood donation unit with four donating stations will be available on the day and, says Taylor, it takes about 20 minutes to donate a pint of blood. “However, we invite all participants to join us for a wors braai to pep up their energy levels after donating. Braaied wors will be available all day.”
Donors will also receive give-aways such as key rings as tokens of appreciation.

The thing about the property ladder is that at some point in our lives we all have reason to want to climb a rung or two higher. Sometimes, it’s because we’ve outgrown our previous dream home, or because we want to be in a better neighbourhood that’s closer to work or to schools. Sometimes it’s because our circumstances have changed, and we’re taking care of elderly parents or relatives. Sometimes, it’s just because we want a property that reflects the financial status our hard work has won.
