User Data Deletion Instructions

At MyProperty, we respect your privacy and your right to control your personal data. This page explains how you can request deletion of your personal information associated with your MyProperty account, including data collected through third-party login providers such as Facebook.
How to Request Deletion
You can request deletion of your personal data in any of the following ways:
Option 1 — From Your Account (Recommended)
If you have a MyProperty account:
- Log in to your account
- Go to Account Settings
- Select Delete Account
- Confirm your deletion request
This will trigger removal of your account and associated personal data from our active systems.
Option 2 — Email Request
You may request deletion by email:
Email: hello@myproperty.africa
Subject: Data Deletion Request
Please include:
- Your full name
- Your account email address
- The portal used (MyProperty Africa / South Africa / Namibia)
- If applicable, that you signed in using Facebook login
We may request verification to protect your account from unauthorised deletion requests.
Option 3 — Facebook App Removal
If you logged in using Facebook:
- Go to your Facebook Settings
- Navigate to Apps and Websites
- Find MyProperty
- Remove the app
Removing the app disconnects Facebook data access. You may still email us to request full deletion of stored account data.
What Data Is Deleted
Upon verified request, we will delete or anonymise:
- Your MyProperty user profile data
- Contact details
- Saved searches and preferences
- Consumer account data
- Facebook login linkage data
- Associated identifiers tied to your account
What Data May Be Retained
We may retain limited data where required for:
- Legal or regulatory compliance
- Fraud prevention and security
- Financial or transaction records where legally required
- System backup logs (automatically purged on rotation)
Retained data is minimised and protected.
Processing Time
Verified deletion requests are processed within up to 30 days. Most requests are completed sooner.
Third-Party Data
If your data was shared with estate agents through enquiries you submitted, those agents act as independent data controllers. You may need to contact them directly to request deletion from their systems.
