Oudtshoorn is the biggest town in the Klein Karoo with some interesting historic towns nearby such as De Rust, Prince Albert, and Calitzdorp. The Region is well known for its Wine Estates, Olive Orchards, and Ostrich Farms. Just outside Oudtshoorn is the world famous Cango Caves. Oudtshoorn has a wide range of good schools, some of which have fine hostels for boarders. English speaking pupils are catered for. Oudtshoorn and its Klein Karoo environment has a number of mountain rangers which are often topped with snow in winter. Every year the towns hosts the KKN arts festival and the Cape Classic festival.
