Previously known as Pietersburg and the name still used by many, Polokwane today, is the capital city of the Limpopo Province and is the commercial centre for surrounding agricultural activities in and around Polokwane, with many vacand land for sale in Polokwane and Farms for sale in the Northern Province. Being the business hub of the Limpopo province, Polokwane attracts many to buy or rent a house, apartment, townhouse, flat in suburbs such as Myngenoegen, Moregloed, Penina Park, Woodlands and Tweefontein.

The city offers various tourist attractions such as the Polokwane Game Reserve , the Bakone Malapa Norhtern Sotho Open Air Museum and the Chuene Crocodile farm. Polokwane (Pietersburg) is also the first city in the Limpopo province with a world class football stadium, the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
