Property in Vereeniging

Situated in the southern part of Gauteng, Vereeniging is neighbours with Vanderbijlpark (to the west), Three Rivers (to the east), Meyerton (to the north) and Sasolburg (to the south) - therefore it forms part of the Vaal Triangle region.

Vereeniging was founded in 1892 and much of its growth is due to the nearby coal mines, historians however will tell you that Vereeniging is best known as the site at which the Treaty of Vereeniging was negotiated, which brought an end to the Second Boer War.

Today the economic wealth of the area comes from the iron, steel, pipes, bricks, tiles and processed lime. The diverse population of Vereeniging lives by the motto of the town - through peace to industry - and has thus become one of South Africa’s most important manufacturing centres.

The proximity to the Vaal Dam has caused the popularity of the town increase with those weekend warriors looking for a quick escape away from the city, and because it is so close to Johannesburg many Jo’burgers has bought holiday properties in the area.

The town also boasts with high quality schools and is in close proximity to world class tertiary institutions. This has only increased the popularity with young families looking for properties to start families in.
