Quick market share for RealNet Vryburg

The new RealNet franchise in Vryburg has found favour in the local market and has quickly notched up its first sales.

"We have had a fantastic reception in the local market, to such an extent that we have already appointed three new agents and an administrative assistant,” says owner Ansie Koekemoer.
 .
“And now we have several more sales contracts pending for homes as well as farms, in spite of the serious drought currently putting pressure on the local agricultural sector.”

She says that Manda Schoonis working in the residential market in Vryburg, Francois van der Bergh has joined the agency as an agricultural specialist and Mario Afonso (subs, correct spelling)  is manning a new satellite office in Delareyville.

“Chenene Feldhaus is in charge of admin at our Vryburg office, and we are confident of an even stronger showing in the local market next year thanks to our bigger and dedicated sales team."

The franchise has also made an impact in surrounding areas, evidenced by the need for a satellite office in Delareyville about 80km from Vryburg, as well as the fact that it has listed several homes for sale in areas as far afield as Schweizer-Reneke 65km away.

Koekemoer adds that Vryburg homes in the R1m to R1,6mprice range are in demand. "But," she adds, "the first home we sold was very special. The charming one-bedroom cottage on a pan-handle was sold to first-time buyer and we thus had good reason for a double celebration."

In spite of severe drought conditions, farmland is still in demand, says Ansie's partner Louis Koekemoer. "Buyers from Gauteng, who want to turn their hand to extensive beef farming in their retirement, are scouting for suitable land and we are currently finalising our first farm sale."

Farm prices currently vary between R4500/ha for farms of up to 10 000ha in the drier areas suitable for extensive commercial beef production, and about R7000/ha for smaller 500ha to 2000ha units suitable for mixed farming.
