Décor Trends 2013

We are already into the second week of the new year and with a new year comes the urge to renew the spaces we live in. We take a look at some of the biggest trends from 2012 and how you can adopt them to fit into what lies ahead for 2013

Shine Bright

One of the biggest trends from 2012 was incorporating neon colours into your home. Pantone recently announced that the new hot colour for 2013 would be Emerald Green. Just like introducing neon colours, Emerald green, is not the easiest colour to incorporate into your home. But it can be done! Use small splashes of this hot colour to get your home on trend easily!

Glam Metallics

Metallics continue to be a big hit in the décor world, for 2013 brass takes first place in the metallics race. You can incorporate this easily into your kitchen!

If that is too overpowering for your liking another big trend this year will be the marriage between pale and metallic, creating iridescent colour palettes. Introduce this softer trend into your home with scatter cushions.

Modern Pastels

Pastels will continue to make a splash in unique ways. But unlike last year, pastels will be used more sparingly and like mentioned before they will probably contain metallic undertones. Dress up your pastels by including a silver framed mirror into your space or DIY metalllic prints onto pastel scatter cushions.

Pattern Perfect

Patterns are huge this year! Everything from polka dots to florals! Beautiful patterns will be found on everything home décor related, incorporate your favourite pattern on linen or wall paper into your trendy space!
