RE/MAX Global learning centre - the key to real estate success

Training plays an important role in career development in any field, and real estate is no exception.  

Adrian Goslett, CEO of RE/MAX of Southern Africa, says that this is why in the first 100 days of 2012, 69 days were spent on training events for RE/MAX agents. “Within a 12 month period RE/MAX of Southern Africa will have held three educational conventions –including two in Sun City, with over 750 RE/MAX delegates at each event and four international speakers in attendance.

With a focus on providing all of its agents with top class real estate skills and knowledge, RE/MAX has launched their Global Learning Centre in Southern Africa which provides its members with a range of training and tools, from entry level and advanced real estate training to local and international real estate skills training, mentorship and leadership programmes as well as business development training and much more.

Goslett says that agents have access to online training 24/7 through RE/MAX University which comprises thousands of programmes on real estate, technology, leadership, skills training and business development which is accessible by all RE/MAX membership via the RE/MAX Mainstreet Intranet site. There is also the RE/MAX Design Centre, a free online marketing design tool available only to RE/MAX sales associates. RE/MAX is also always creating innovative technology for its membership to make use of, a recent example being Layar augmented reality and property video tours. RE/MAX of Southern Africa is the first in the South African real estate industry to implement this technology.

The Learning Centre, says Goslett, has a large pool of over 12 experienced real estate and leadership trainers who have trained both in Southern Africa and internationally, each of which have over 15 years of training experience. “The Learning Centre also has access to leading International trainers and educators, including those who have made frequent trips to Southern Africa such as Ed Hatch, a well known international CRS Designation trainer; Steve Murray, an international real estate trends educator and trainer and Brian Buffini, the leading real estate trainer in the US who will be the key note speaker at the 2013 RE/MAX Convention to be held at Sun City.”

Goslett says that the results of the training programmes that RE/MAX agents have access to speak for themselves. “It is due to these training programmes that RE/MAX agents account for approximately 6% of total agent numbers and approximately 15% of all residential sales. The Buffini 100 Days to Greatness program, which is offered exclusively to RE/MAX, has delivered an average of 6.6 transactions per agent in the first three months. The Certified Distressed Property Expert designation is exclusive to RE/MAX and has helped generate an additional R40- million in commissions for our sales associates in two years.”

Goslett concludes by saying that the RE/MAX Global Learning Centre will provide over 120 days of training to the RE/MAX membership in 2013 and will continue to innovate and meet the needs of the changing real estate industry in the years to come. RE/MAX is truly leading the industry in the area of innovative training in Southern Africa and the  RE/MAX Global Training Centre is destined to grow in stature in the years to come.
