Franchise survey ranks RE/MAX as the top performer

Global real estate franchisor RE/MAX is the highest ranking real estate organisation in the 2012 Franchise Times Top 200.  The survey is based on worldwide sales and RE/MAX has held the top position for four years in a row.

In the 12th annual Top 200 survey published in the October edition of Franchise Times magazine, RE/MAX ranked 16th among all franchises.  Some of the top ranked franchises identified in the Top 200 survey include McDonald’s, 7-11, Hertz, and Hyatt Hotels.

RE/MAX continues to enjoy significant growth.  It recently announced that it will soon open in China, and worldwide franchise sales through September are 22% higher than the same period last year.  Franchise sales in Brazil are 229% higher than 2011 and in Southern Africa sales are up 77%.  In the United States, the Central and Northern Ohio region led the way with franchise sales up 8%.

Adrian Goslett, CEO of RE/MAX of Southern Africa,  says that more than 20 new franchises have opened in the Southern African region up to the end August this year. “The brand is continuing to grow its footprint that encompasses over 160 office locations. We are now represented in eight countries in Southern Africa,” he says.

In 2012, two other respected industry surveys have ranked RE/MAX agents as the industry’s most productive among the national brands in the US.  RE/MAX offices took 44 of the top 50 spots in the 2012 REAL Trends 500 survey when ranked by agent productivity.  RE/MAX agents also had an average of 15.6 transaction sides in the RIS Media Power Broker survey, the highest of any national brand.

Goslett says that locally RE/MAX agents account for 6% of total agent numbers and for 15% of all sales transactions. “The average number of years of real estate experience within the RE/MAX of Southern Africa group is over 10 years, and our average agent commission earnings are up 31% in 2012, compared to the 2010 figures.”

In the United States, RE/MAX was recently ranked number one in a national customer satisfaction survey done by the JD Powers Group. In Southern Africa, RE/MAX has an equal focus on customer experience through its Quality Assurance Program.

Goslett says: “At RE/MAX we believe that experience is important but that creating an environment where agents can maximize their income through increased productivity is more important. It’s not just about what you know. It’s about what you know, what resources you have available to you and how you use them. RE/MAX franchisees have access to extensive training from the award-winning Global Learning Centre, as well as numerous technology tools and resources. The Learning Centre will provide over 120 days of training to the RE/MAX membership in 2013 and will continue to innovate and meet the needs of the changing real estate industry in the years to come. It is for this reason that we believe nobody in the world sells more real estate than RE/MAX,” Goslett concludes.
