Lucy Ferreira takes her team to Chas Everitt International Property Group

One of the best-known and most respected estate agents in Johannesburg’s southern suburbs, Lucy Ferreira, has taken the exciting decision to join forces with Chas Everitt International.

Indeed, she and her team of agents have already become part of the “family “at the Chas Everitt franchise in Glenvista, which is owned by southern suburbs real estate master Jacques Bronkhorst and has attracted a steady stream of converts to its brand this year.

“More than 20 agents have flocked to join our team since we became a Chas Everitt franchise,” says Jacques. “Many of them have moved over from other ‘big-name’ agencies, a few are new entrants to the real estate industry who were attracted by our recruiting campaigns and others, like Lucy, were the heads of independent agencies who decided in favour of working under the Chas Everitt banner.”

And as a result, he says, the agency has been able to rapidly extend its services and increase further awareness of the brand, which is fast becoming the dominant player in its areas of operation. “We are getting tremendous support from local communities as word gets around about the effectiveness of our agents and marketing methods - and we are committed to doing better and even better for our clients.”

Lucy says that after nine years as the head of her own agency, “it was a huge step to decide to join another company – and a big responsibility to take my whole team with me as it would also affect their future.

“However, I really felt we needed the backing, infrastructure and strength of a national brand with multiple marketing channels that would enable us to give our mandates much greater exposure both in SA and overseas, and although I did explore a few other options, I had no doubt about my choice of national brand once I had met with Jacques – who I have known in the local real estate industry for many years - and his sales manager Alan Hunkin.

“Both my team and I have been made so welcome that we feel right at home already – and as if to underline the fact that we have definitely made the right move, two of my agents made their first sale within two days of joining Chas Everitt!”

A former winner of the national Property Professional of the Year award (2005), Jacques first made his name in Johannesburg’s new south through his own high-profile agency, Pulse Realty, which he started in 2002, before deciding to join another national group in 2007 and then moving to the Chas Everitt International brand earlier this year. .

At the time, he said he had been impressed by the group’s “great national infrastructure, outstanding support for its franchisees, agents and clients and leadership in the application of new real estate technologies and in particular the use of online marketing”, and these are some of the factors that also influenced Lucy’s decision.

“In addition, I am very impressed with the ongoing training the group offers to all its agents and principals to keep us abreast of all the changes in the real estate industry and give us the tools to make the most of them.

“And most importantly, the whole group shares the family values that my team and I have always believed in, and which inspire and enable us to serve our clients with total integrity.”
