Spring décor trends

With Spring fast approaching, it’s time to start thinking about new and fresh home décor ideas. Light-hearted and ethereal are words that best describe the Spring 2012 Decorating Trends.

Focus is on a neutral background of cream, white or beige with pops of jewel tones such as emerald green, ruby red, golden yellow and sapphire blue in accessories and fabrics. We see the return of light wood finishes, signaling that dark woods are on the way out. White surfaces are popular and reflect the light, a very desired element this Spring.

“There is no better way to interpret this trend, while inviting spring into your home, than with our wide range of light wood or white shutters and blinds”, says Karina Palmer of American Shutters.

“Not only do they create a neutral, stylish, always-on-trend canvas to work with in the room, but shutters and blinds also offer the versatility of choosing just how much sunlight you want slicing through their louvres. Light, and particularly sunlight is a key spring décor element, and shutters and blinds allow you to play with generous doses of lazy afternoon sun or slivers of crisp dawn light alike” concludes Palmer.
