New development in Vredehoek set to sell out fast

The Cape Town suburb of Vredehoek is an extremely popular area, attracting a young and trendy crowd based on its proximity to the city centre.

Over the past few years, Vredehoek has undergone a rapid urban revival through renovation and re-development with many older buildings giving way to brand new, high quality apartment blocks.  Vredehoek is in high demand for home buyers and property investors.  Susan Watts, Broker Manager of city-based RE/MAX Living explains: “The younger generation buyers are looking for something unique, something that only the urban chic city life offers.  This is a prime location on the slopes of Table Mountain offering views of the mountain and harbour, convenience and security.”

It is here that The Signal, a brand new development in Aandbloem Road, has been launched.  Building started in January this year, with the development due for completion at the end of the year.  With over 20 years of experience in the building trade, Fildev is at the helm of this project.  They have most recently completed The Burnside, the first development in lower Tamboerskloof in the past five years.

The Signal will offer a total of 16 units with a selection of garden apartments, lofts or penthouses to choose from.  All units boast mountain or city views and each have two parking bays.  Unit prices range from R1,35 million to just over R3 million.

Fildev’s philosophy in the creation of The Signal is simple.  All they ask is “Would we want to live here?”  The developer’s market research into buyers’ needs has ensured that all units have an outside feature in the form of either a garden or a balcony.  They have also been designed with open spatial elements, high-end kitchens featuring granite tops, ample cupboard space, a separate laundry and environmentally sound features including solar hot water and rain water harvesting.  “Buyers will have the option to choose certain finishes or even make certain layout changes, if they purchase at an early stage of development. Even though the project was only started in January, there has already been an overwhelming response from potential buyers, particularly young professionals looking for investments in prime locations” says Henry Voss of RE/MAX Living, who is marketing this development.

Priced from R15 580 per square metre, The Signal offers buyers extremely good value for money. Conveniently located within walking distance of the Gardens Shopping Centre and Wembley Square, it is an attractive proposition for anybody that is currently wishing to invest in real estate in the sought after Cape Town City Bowl area.  The Signal is also set to offer excellent investment return as the rental market is on the up and up.

Adrian Goslett, CEO of RE/MAX of Southern Africa says that during the recession period developments slowed down throughout the country. “In recent months, increased levels of development and general upgrades are taking place in sought after areas and Vredehoek in the City Bowl falls into this category.”

Vredehoek offers an impressive array of restaurants, pubs, delis and eclectic boutique stores. The area is home to several well-known designers, musicians, artists and entrepreneurs and has all the amenities of schools, medical facilities and shopping. Within five minutes’ drive are the beaches, city centre or the nightlife of the Long Street quarter.
