Greenways Golf Estate property sales picking-up

Property sales in Greenways Golf Estate in the Strand has been showing a steady increase during the first 7 months of 2011 – relative to the 18 registered sales achieved during both 2009 and 2010 (about 1,5 sales per month). Already 14 property sales has been registered during the first 7 months of 2011 – that is about 2 per month and could mean that Greenways can be year end regain close to the same total sales volumes as has last been achieved in 2008 (with 28 sales). It is however still far removed from sales achieved at the height of the property cycle in 2007 when 24 houses and 14 apartments were sold in Greenways Golf Estate – i.e. about 4 properties per month.

Recent buyers in Greenways can according to Lightstone be subdivided in the following age groups : 27% (older than 65 years) / 50% (between 50-64) / 16,67% (36-49) and only 5,56% between 18-35. Of the stable owners, the tenure of owners can be divided into 46,95% (11 years and more) / 22,41% (8-10 years) / 13,72% (5-7years) / 16,92% less than 5 years.

The other apartment complexes in Greenways offers a much more affordable choice with prices starting at R695 000 to R 950 000 for a 3 bedroom apartment of 72 sq.m.
