Buyers flock to New Burgundy Estate project

In the three weeks since the launch of the new Viridian Square development in the Burgundy Estate near Durbanville, more than 40% of the units have already been sold or reserved.

"We have been overwhelmed with the response from the market," says Marelize van Rooyen of sole marketing agency Nationlink Plattekloof. "Purchasers are extremely excited about the prospect of getting into the market at an affordable price, and the banks are also coming to the party with 100% bonds for qualified applicants through the assistance of ooba, the approved bond originators for Viridian Square."

The development's main selling points are security, lifestyle and affordability and it will be comprised of 38 single and double-storey homes. These are being sold on a plot-and-plan basis and buyers have a choice of six designs in various configurations, from two-bedroom, one bathroom units to three-bedroom, two-bathroom units. There is also a wide variety of finishes such as cupboards, tiles and carpets for buyers to choose from in order to personalise their homes.

The prices of the remaining unsold units starting at R852 000, all costs included, and occupation is expected before the end of this year.

"Many people envy the Capetonians," says Van Rooyen, "but Capetonians envy the Burgundians, the friendly residents of Burgundy Estate. Positioned adjacent to the idyllic vineyards of the Durbanville Hills and historic De Grendel wine estates, Burgundy Estate is truly a suburb in its own right. Living here means falling in love with the outdoors.

"You can expect to be dashing outside at every opportunity. A nine-hole mashie golf course, canoeing dams, multi-purpose sports fields, tennis court, parks, cycling and jogging trails will entice you away from your sofa and TV – plus wine country and the sea are always 'just over there'. You'll soon see why everyone – even Capetonians – would love to be a Burgundian!"
