Eye of Africa launches new apartment development

With the launch of The Village at Eye of Africa, a brand new apartment development, Eye of Africa Golf and Residential Estate entrenches itself as a premium lifestyle estate offering homes for every type of purchaser.

Located on two hectares within the beautiful estate, The Village presents an exciting new take on apartment living.

The development offers both two-bedroom and three-bedroom options, with 86m² and 135m² of living space respectively, spread over two storeys. Aram Lello, associate director of dhk architects, the firm behind the development’s design, explains that The Village comprises 12 apartment blocks, with eight apartments in each block. “The apartments themselves have been designed to make the most of the glorious, outdoor-oriented lifestyle so characteristic of Eye of Africa. Open plan kitchen, living and dining areas open out on to balconies showing the surrounding landscape to its best advantage. All master bedrooms are en suite, and the homes feature additional guest bathrooms. The apartments are north-facing, and all ground floor units boast private gardens.”

He adds that The Village’s architecture has remained true to Eye of Africa’s aesthetic, embracing nature’s colours and textures to optimise the estate’s setting which, with its sweeping views, dams, and abundance of indigenous plants, is reminiscent of a nature reserve. “We carefully selected a palette of materials that complements this special environment, with locally sourced natural stone and simple painted plaster. We also opted to keep the height of the apartment blocks to two storeys, so that the buildings sit comfortably in the landscape and create a cosy, village-type atmosphere.”

With prices for the apartments starting at R1 395 million, the Village is an inviting option for first-time purchasers.

As Kent Gush of Kent Gush Properties notes, the apartment blocks are a welcomed addition completing an offering that allows Eye of Africa to provide homes for purchasers across the spectrum, from young professionals to couples and young families, as well as empty nesters. “With freeholding stands as well as beautiful cluster homes in the Stone Quarter and Origins precincts, there are a variety of entry and price points available, ensuring that there really is something for everyone.”
The facilities on offer are just as diverse as the housing options. The highlight of the estate is, of course, the Greg Norman-designed golf course, but there are plenty of other amenities to entertain and delight. Families are invited to spend a lazy day in Central Park, for instance, lunching at The Old School Deli restaurant, while the kids take a timeout in the play parks. There’s also dining at the Green’s Grillhouse, which boasts a wine bar and terrace. Meanwhile, residents can keep fit at the state of the art gym, or on the floodlit tennis and basketball courts, all a stone’s throw from The Village precinct. Not forgetting to mention there is also a resort pool, and a clubhouse earmarked for the near future.

These facilities are complemented by those being planned for The Village precinct, where the apartment buildings are located. To create an entire lifestyle offering, the precinct will include sectional title offices and convenience stores. It’s not unlike having your own city within a city – but, the precinct’s beautiful landscaping, including a meandering creek, ensures that homeowners feel that they are living in the heart of nature.

“We are very pleased to bring this new offering to Eye of Africa. We believe it truly cements our reputation as the jewel of the south,” says David Nagle, developer of Eye of Africa.
