Top 10 most exclusive estates in South Africa

According to a recent publication compiled by New World Wealth a list of the top 10 most exclusive estates in South Africa has been identified based on their appeal to wealthy buyers.

Statistics made public by New World Wealth comes from their own in house data base that consists of data of over 150000 high net worth individuals from around the world.

The popularity of these exclusive estates was determined by the following factors and criteria:

  • The type of security, whether the estate has an access gate and makes provision for private security personnel ;
  • Activities provided to residents, gym, swimming pool, golf course, horse riding, polo and tennis,
  • Facilities available like shops, office space, parks  and gathering places, playgrounds for children, medical centres and schools.
  • Quality and design of the houses within the estate;
  • Land size, positioning of the house on the property;
  • Views and scenery that the property has to offer;
  • Wildlife within the estate;
  • Selling price and growth potential of the property.

 

1.  Val de Vie Winelands Lifestyle Estate

Val de Vie tops the charts as the most desirable estate to live in.   The estate is located in Paarl, Western Cape which was the dream come true for Martin Venter who searched for a place in the winelands where he and his family could settle down.

The estate has many activities on offer to its residents like Polo grounds for the enthusiasts of this exclusive sport as well as stables against the Simonsberg and Franschoek mountains for horse owners.  At its restaurant you can select a gourmet dish from their Polo Club menu or sit down for a wine pairing session.   The estate makes provision for many events with various conferencing rooms, has a health club, the Ryk Neetling Swimming School and tennis academy for the health conscious on offer.

2.  Zimbali Coastal Resort and Estate

Buying a property on this prestigious estate can cost you anything from R5million to R40million.

6.  Whale Rock Ridge
