Small Spaces: Jolly Holiday Decorations

Don’t let your small space discourage you from enjoying the holiday cheer! We take a look at some ideas to spread the joy no matter how small your space is.

No tree, no problem

Instead of doing up an entire tree why not display your Christmas cards on the wall alongside some greenery!

Christmassy washi tape

If you prefer the minimalist look, head on over to your local craft store to pick up some washi tape to create designs that fits the season. Bonus: you can change it up easily when New Year’s Eve rolls around.

Vase it

If you want a tree but just don’t have the space, use large vases with tree branches. Spruce it up with baubles, ornaments or lights and you have a cheerful corner in no time at all!

The tree is not a tree

You don’t actually need branches to create a tree - words, shapes, ornaments or stickers you have in the house will do the trick!

Light it up

Use lights to create a beautiful tree design that will provide the necessary enchantment on Christmas Eve.

Somewhere in between

If you want a more natural look but love the twinkling lights combine branches that has been stripped from their bark with lights and a sprinkling of ornaments.

A little ribbon

There is something magical about a ribbons and stockings! Tie ribbon with stockings around a banister, doorway or even hang it up on the wall just don’t forget to stuff them with treats!

Not just mistletoe

Usually the only thing hanging from the ceiling at Christmas time is the mistletoe, but if you are need of some space hang ornaments from the ceiling to create your Christmas wonderland.

Bring it to the bedroom

If you live in a studio apartment this is a great way to decorate - not only are you saving on space but you are also ensuring that you are enveloping yourself in the Christmas cheer! Pretty bedding with accents of red and green paired with a wreath will double up the holiday vibes.

Serve it up

If a table is the only open space you have in your home don’t fret, because you can still get into the spirit with a simple tiered cake stand filled with greenery, baubles, tinsel and lights!
